Fall songs
5 Little pumpkins sitting on the gate
The first one said, “My, it’s getting late!”
The second one said, “There are witches in the air”.
The third one said, “I don’t care!”
The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run”.
The fifth one said, “Isn’t Halloween fun?”
Then whoooooo went the wind,
And out went the lights
And the 5 little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
The river sang softly to the leaves on the trees
I am waiting to take you on a journey with me
Then the leaves fell down gently on quiet autumn day
And floated with river far, far, far away.
Feast Game
As we begin this fabulous feast,
The first things that go are our tasty toes
Now if you please, go up to your knees
Yummy, yummy it’s up to our tummy
The next to go in is our delicious chin
And you know what it said as it gobbled our head?
GULP
Bakery Shop
Five little muffins in the bakery shop,
You know the kind with the honey and the sugar on top.
Along came a boy/girl with a penny to pay,
(S)he took one muffin and [ran, flew, jumped…] away!
Pony, Pony
Pony, pony paw the ground
Toss your head
Look around
Galloping, galloping, galloping, galloping
Galloping off to market
Galloping, galloping, galloping, galloping
Galloping off to market
WHOA horsie!
Twinkle Twinkle (the silly way)
Children fill in their own rhyming pairs
Twinkle, twinkle little shoe
How I wonder what you moo
Up above the world so mouse
Like a diamond in the house
Twinkle, twinkle little map
How I wonder what you tap.
Willaby, Wallaby Woo ( a great starting song for rhyming)
Willaby Wallaby Woo
An elephant sat on you
Willaby wallaby Weanne
An elephant sat on Jeanne
Willaby wallaby Will
An elephant say on Jill
Down by the Bay (put in rhyming pair)
Down by the bay
Where the watermelons grow
Back to my home I dare not go
For if I do
My mother might say
Did you ever see a bear?
Combing his hair?
Down by the bay.
“A Seed Knows What to Do,” by Sarah Pirtle
“Cuz a seed knows what to do, a seed knows what to do.
And the water goes slishy sloshy,
And the dirty goes gooshy gah-shey,
And the stems go viney wind-ey,
And the roots go interwiney,
And the seed knows what to do”
